Saudi Arabia Partners With China-Led SCO

Saudi Arabia & China have dealt yet another blow to the US as it pivots away from the Middle East. Saudi Arabia has decided to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), inching closer to China. The kingdom’s cabinet approved a memorandum to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as a “dialogue partner”. Experts say Riyadh’s SCO move is likely a precursor to Saudi Arabia getting full membership of the bloc. The recent deals are signs of China’s expanding foothold in the region as America seems to be slowly withdrawing from the Middle East. The bromance between Saudi Arabia and China will likely force the US to reevaluate its strategy in the Middle East.
