Natural disaster 29 March 2023. The fury of nature rages in Oman! Severe flooding hit the city of Nizwa
Heavy rain hit several areas in the Sultanate of Oman, causing an unprecedented run-off of wadis. The floods submerged a number of districts, triggering landslides.
The incessant rainfall paralysed traffic on several roads, according to local media.
The Omani Meteorological Department said that parts of the mountainous areas in the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, North and South Batinah witnessed rain of varying intensity that led to flooded valleys.
The police called on travellers to be careful, as traffic was closed to light vehicles in the Al Turath neighbourhood — Al Rahba road in the Wilayat of Nizwa due to a landslide.
